Covid-19 Photography Safety Guidelines
Although we have experienced many changes in our lives due to Covid-19, we can still hold photography sessions safely here in the Portland Metro area.
*I continue to follow the current Oregon and Multnomah County regulations regarding outdoor & indoor gatherings.
Mask Wearing
During our meeting and photo session I will wear a mask at all times, unless I am over 10+ feet away and needing to communicate more clearly to your family. I would ask that your family wear a mask when we meet and during any down time/walking during the session. Since your family will not be masked while photos are being taken we will choose our locations accordingly to decrease the chance of encountering others while we are doing the photo shoot.
Social Distancing
Although the CDC and state of Oregon recommend a minimum of 6 feet for social distancing, I’ll do my best to maintain 8-10 feet between us during the session. To help accomplish this I’ll utilize a longer / zoom lens as much as possible to maintain this distance.
Oregon State Covid-19 Guidelines
In addition to social distancing and mask wearing, the state of Oregon for Multnomah County has occasionally limited outdoor gatherings to six people from two households. At the time of your session we’ll verify the current guidelines.
Indoor vs. Outdoor Photo Shoots
Family sessions can occur on location or at your home. This can include around your home (front and back yard) and neighborhood, or one of the many Portland Oregon parks, urban neighborhoods, and riverfront locales. I can take some photos in your home, with doors and windows open and social distancing. Newborn sessions can occur in home and I’ll wear a KN95 mask for those sessions.
Zero Contact During Photography Sessions
During the session I will not be able to hold any of your belongings, or assist like I would love to with kids and pets to maintain safety. I’ll give tons of verbal directions, and if you need assistance with hair or clothing I’ll let you know and all family members can pitch in to help. I would ask you to bring some hand sanitizer for your family, and I’ll also have a personal supply as well.
Cancelation/Rescheduling Due To Covid-19
If anyone in your family or immediate contacts has any symptoms of Covid-19 (shortness of breath, fever, cough, loss of taste or smell…) we’ll reschedule your session to 14+ days later without any penalty. If you or any of your contacts are exposed to someone with Covid-19, we’ll also reschedule. I would kindly request notification if you learn of an exposure or diagnosis that occurred within 14 days prior to our session. If anyone in my household/contacts has an exposure/symptoms I’ll also reschedule your session for the health and safety of all involved.
