I believe that the essence of a personality is rarely captured in a “cheese” smile. With a fun and relaxed approach to portraits, I am able to capture more natural expressions and true emotions of your child. They will be photographed on a classic grey background, allowing their personalities to shine.
These school photos are quick and low stress, lasting just a few minutes. I chat with them, telling jokes, and acting silly to help their personality and natural smile to shine. That being said, if you have a serious and contemplative child, I’ll photograph them in their natural state as well.

Modern School Portraits with Rebecca Hunnicutt Photography & Education provides a UNIQUE one of a kind experience for students and families.
The online photo gallery delivered to families has multiple natural expressions, in both horizontal and vertical orientation from which families can select their student’s photos.
The expressions in the portraits will range from serious to silly, based on each child’s unique personality and mood on picture day. There will be close up compositions as well as images with more space around the student.
Instead of one image being selected by the photographer to present to families, caregivers can choose one or multiple expressions and natural poses of their child for their print and digital file products.

Let’s make SCHOOL picture day easy and FUN
School picture day is a yearly tradition that many of us remember from our years growing up. When I think back to school picture day it included having to sit with an uncomfortable posture, be told to angle my shoulders and chin in an un-natural manner, and then to smile on command without blinking. Just those words makes me uncomfortable, and it’s no wonder that my true personality never shined through in those annual school photos.
That’s why Modern School Portraits are different.
I want kids to have fun, be excited for picture day each year, and have treasured memories that reflect their true personalities to hold and display for years to come.
I want nothing more than for your children and students to be relaxed and to enjoy having their photo taken. When they are relaxed and themselves, they will have natural expressions that are true to their personality, and you will LOVE to see their true selves shining through the portraits.
How it works…

First we’ll have a call to discuss working together review important points such as the size of your school, if you’d like class group photos, teacher photos etc.
Then we’ll schedule an on site visit to select a location for picture day setup, and finalize your photo day schedule.
I’ll provide your school with a flier, and a website detailing how families can prepare for picture day. -
On school picture day/days I’ll arrive before our planned start time to set up the photo area, and to meet the staff.
We’ll work together to bring children to the photo area in groups of at least 5 children with clean faces, ready to have fun photos taken.
I work hard to have the least disruption to their school day as possible. We’ll also photograph staff throughout the morning if needed, and coordinate sibling photos too! -
All student photographs are delivered via a secure online gallery for families to share, enjoy, and directly order all print and digital products.
Digital files are delivered immediately after purchase, and print products / wall art are all ordered together after the gallery closes.
The prints are then hand delivered to the school by Rebecca, approximately 2-4 weeks after the ordering window closes.

No payments are made before families view their child’s online gallery, and the prices are quite competitive. I offer a la carte pricing as well as multiple packages which are of great value.

I work with each school to determine the best time of year for their community. I’m able to customize the schedule based on each school’s schedule and unique needs

I’m able to work with both large and small school groups and a variety of ages. I customize the schedule based on the age of your students, and size of the student body. For example, I need additional time for the photos of 2yo preschoolers than 15 year old high school students.

If you have a family without internet access to place their order, I’m happy to coordinate a printed order form if needed on a case by case basis.

Yes! Teacher portraits are a standard offering to all schools, and are completed as a complimentary service for having me to your school. Each teacher or staff member will select their favorite image on photo day, and then the images will be delivered as one online gallery to the school to be disseminated to the staff via email for online download, and can be used for your school website, as well as making staff IDs.

All equipment is provided by Rebecca for school picture day. Depending on the regulations of your school, we will plan that I have an assistant, or that a teacher/staff member/ school volunteer will help to shepard students from their classrooms, and ensure that they are picture ready.

Each student will have approximately 3-5 images in both color and black and white in their password protected gallery. Families will then have the opportunity to purchase prints, digital products, wall art, and any class group photos or collages. Group photos /collages will not be available for digital download. Any and all questions from families during the ordering process are handled directly by the photographer, and no money or orders are collected at school.

Yes! After the ordering window closes, schools have the opportunity to download high resolution jpg files of the students photos to use for school ID’s, yearbooks, website, school advertising, and any other internal purposes. Class group photos and collages are available in print form based on school needs and requirements.
